Our COVID-19 Response
During these uncertain times, we want to make sure immigrant and refugee small business owners and farmers can keep thriving. Many are unsure how they will stay afloat. Many were just getting started making their restaurant or retail dreams a reality. We are partnering with the Camelback Lightrail Corridor coalition of neighborhood associations to highlight small business owners and urban farmers here in our community. Our goal is to connect you directly with these owners to not just support them during COVID-19, but also for years to come.
New Roots growers have donated produce to the IRC Food Box program, which has distributed hundreds of food boxes to refugees throughout the Phoenix area. Produce from the Aquaponics greenhouse at CBY was also donated to the foodbox program in response to COVID-19.
